We are looking for a Head of Design (m/f/d) to join our team, starting on 1 October 2026.
As Head of Design (m/f/d), you will take on technical responsibility for our entire design department and, together with your team, develop innovative and cost-effective solutions for sophisticated stamping and forming tools.
In doing so, you will oversee our projects throughout the entire process chain – from the initial idea and concept development, through the design phase, to implementation in toolmaking, assembly and series production.
You will act as a manager, technical point of contact and problem-solver. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to actively further develop our design and processes and to make effective use of new technologies.

What you have to offer:
- Completed technical training with further training as a technician (m/f/d), a degree in mechanical engineering/design, or an equivalent qualification
- Several years’ experience in design and technical project management, ideally in punching and bending technology
- Experience with a modern 3D CAD system, preferably Siemens NX and bNX
- A sound understanding of technical drawings and manufacturing processes
- An independent, structured and solution-oriented approach to work
- Leadership experience or a desire to take on responsibility for a team and develop staff
- An interest in new technologies and the practical application of AI tools
- An entrepreneurial mindset and a drive not just to manage things, but to develop them further
- Good to very good written and spoken English
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- You will lead and develop our design team, both professionally and personally.
- You will oversee projects from concept development through to successful implementation.
- You will develop and design components, assemblies, as well as stamping, bending and forming tools and jigs.
- You will ensure that designs are suitable for production, assembly and series manufacture.
- You will create and edit 3D CAD models, technical drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- You will work closely with toolmaking, production, project management, customers and suppliers.
- You will optimise existing designs in terms of function, manufacturing, quality and costs.
- You will also support projects during production, assembly and commissioning.
- When faced with technical challenges, you will work with your team to develop practical and cost-effective solutions.
- You will drive forward the digitalisation and standardisation of our design processes, making effective use of modern AI tools.
